One year ago, I went to the hospital thinking I had appendicitis and learned very quickly that I had colon cancer and kidney cancer in both kidneys. Three surgeries, 6 months of chemo, and 14 scars later, I am cancer-free. I am thankful. And I am grateful. And it is time to give back.

 Help Me Give Back to SCOA

For the month of March, I am launching an online campaign to raise awareness and money for SCOA Cares right here in Columbia, South Carolina.

I am going to match donations, dollar for dollar, up to $5,000 to this worthy organization.

I am also going to donate one dollar for every unique individual social media share from the Rikard & Protopapas Facebook page up to an additional $5,000.

I am hopeful that with your donation, matching gifts and sharing, we’ll raise $15,000 to support the care of South Carolinians battling cancer.

 

About SCOA Cares

SCOA Cares is a nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to cancer patients. 

SCOA Cares:

• Pays for qualified patients to received CT Scans and PET Scans at no cost.
• Helps qualified patients with vital cancer and symptom medications.
• Provides assistance with Cobra Payments for those patients currently undergoing treatment and have lost their job due to cancer.
• Funds a transportation award to get patients to their treatment when they have no alternative transportation options.
